Stock levels are updated at least once per hour. Consequently, an item marked as 'in stock' does not guarantee that the item is still available between updates.

What is Qwik-Ship?

Qwik-Ship is our fast delivery program. We recognize that customers need the product in their hands as quickly as possible for the lowest possible cost.

Products that are marked as Qwik-Ship are currently showing as in stock in our main warehouse and are ready to ship the same day (for orders placed before 4pm EST). These will typically be delivered within 3 business days to most major urban centers in the lower 48 states, with the exceptions shown on the color-coded map below. You get this fast service for the low price of standard UPS Ground service.

Orders placed after 4pm EST and/or shipping to areas marked on the color-coded map below can take up to 5 days. International orders may take more than 7 business days.

Ever pass an idle moment wondering what your computer costs in electric bills? How about that fan on the shelf? Your space heater?

Wonder no more. Just plug this gimmick into a wall outlet, and your hourly electric costs will be displayed in big letters all the time.

My entertainment center costs me about $12 a month in electricity. Anytime I get curious I can move the meter to any outlet in the house to identify the real power hogs that are loading up my electric bill. However, at around $75 bucks, it will take a lot of savings to pay for this toy. But don't worry -- you'll get your money's worth just playing around with it. And it's a great gift for your environmentally-minded grandparents that already have everything the need.

I purchased two of these meters to incorporate into a display we had built for a GOING GREEN expo thru our local Chamber of commerce. Within a few hours we of operation it could project the yearly cost for running conventional lighting as compared to LED lighting. Now that the show is over, we have a line up of employees wanting to take one home to plug into various appliances. (I'm First). People have no idea how much money is going out the door with idle appliances and electronics. Plug in that 2nd entertainment center thats in your spare room (turned off) and see what thats costing in one year!!!

The Bottom Line

I used the Kill-A-Watt EZ to determine if my old refrigerator is the cause of my high power bills. I plugged it in, dialed in my power costs, and sat back to wait for a few days for the monthly average to stabilize. Turns out the refrigerator isn't my problem, so the money I spent on this device saved me (at least temporarily) from buying a new refrigerator. I also tried it out on our home theater system.

The Good
Best power useage gauge I have ever come across. Lots of features, and very easy to use. The only meter that I have come across that will show total energy use (not just power use). And relatively cheap as well!
The Bad
Two minor quibbles 1) It can only be manipulated while plugged it, so it can be somewhat awkward to use if the outlet is in a difficult to access place. 2) The screen is not back-lit, so it can be hard to read in a dark corner.
The Bottom Line
Despite a couple minor issues, this is an excellent and highly useful product. By seeing the energy useage rather than just the power (though you can see this as well), you can see the true cost of your appliances (eg keeping your TV plugged in over night or your computer on when not in use).

The Bad

The Bottom Line
It works good.

The Kill-A-Watt EZ performs as described in the web page information. I purchased it to find out what various appliances were costing me to run. I found out that an old 1940's refrigerator that I use as a backup, was costing hardly anything to run (I thought it was an energy hog). On the other hand, I found that leaving my desktop computer and printer on all the time was costing me $4/month. Also, my laptop hooked to a 19" monitor was costing another $4/month. I have decided that can get along by turning at least one of them off. I would recommend the Kill-A-Watt to anyone who wants to learn what various appliances are costing them to run.

A product that works. If there is a power cut, the accumulated data is not lost.
The Bad
Be sure and read the manual regarding setting up the meter. By the seat of the pants you are not likely to be able to do it. However you needn't do any setup if you only want to keep tract of the power usage.
The Bottom Line
I'm very pleased with this product.
Full Review
This unit works by plugging it into a power outlet and then plugging in your appliance, power bar with multiple appliances, etc. into it. So that part is a no brainer. It is limited to 110 volt applications, max 15 amps.

I use it to measure the amount of power (kilowatts) used by a water tank deicer on a water barrel for some horses that belong to my son. He pays for the power it uses.

I was relieved to find that the accumulated power measured by the meter isn't lost if there is a power cut. The meter continues to add to the number of kilowatts recorded previous to the power outage. The accumulated readings can be zeroed at any point.

You can enter your cost per kilowatt and the meter will then give you a total for the accumulated usage and give you estimated costs per hour, day, week, or month. A nice feature, but the essential feature I wanted was its ability to measure accumulated power usage.

The meter also gives a real time readout of the line voltage. A nice feature if you want to check the line voltage.

The Bottom Line
Easy to use and a good tool to monitor 120v electricity users.

This can function as both a kw usage meter plus an easy way to back calculate what the kw user is actually doing. For instance, one user I put it on is my new heat pump on my hot water heater. Before, I was just using an estimate that the solar contractor gave me on how much hot water his device would supply. Seemed like a good number; so, that was the amount I used to justify my heat pump installation. Turned out pretty close. The Kill a Watt EZ told me we were using 43 gallons/day (back calculated from kw valve). I'd been using 50 from the solar guy.

The Kill-A-Watt EZ is easy to use. It is intuitive and easy to figure out, even without using the provided instructions. It would be better to enter more than three places beyond the decimal point when entering the rate. As it is, I had to round-up the rate. I found it easy to compare the cost of operating the propane furnace and an infrared heating unit to heat my mobile home. It would be nice to have the device record readings if it didn't increase the cost too much. Overall, I can highly recommend the Kill-A-Watt EZ for determining the cost of operating individual electrical appliances.

I used the meter to investigate the amount of power that a dehumidifier used. Over the summer I thought my 13 seer air conditioner was the culprit. Using the Kill-A-Watt EZ meter I was able to detemine that the dehumidifier running 24 hours a day in an unfinished basement used more power than the air conditioning for the same time frame.

If you are considering using solar or wind power and currently have a gas electric fired high efficiency hot water tank, the tank requires 500 Watts of power to light and then runs at 75 Watts to run the exhaust fan.

This was important information as during the big black out in 2003, there was no hot water, and my 400 Watt inverter was insufficient to light the igniter for the hot water tank.

A rechargeable tooth brush uses 2 Watts of power all the time.

The meter was used to measure everthing to determine how many phantom loads there were from simple electrical devices sitting there turned off, but still drawing power from the grid.

Very simple tool in realizing cost savings, just by switching thing off that have a standby power or hot standby mode.
