A COMPLETE LOGGING SOLUTION - from setup, to data gathering, to issuing a comprehensive final report. As with all PowerSight meters the PS2500 comes with powerful PC software and an automatic Report Writer.

The PS2500 is an inexpensive yet versatile, handheld power monitor, an excellent choice for power studies.  Note the contoured, rubberized grip that fits securely and comfortably in the hand.   It is also, lightweight (only 1.1 lb.), compact and rugged, — ideal for field work!

The Summit PS2500 has 4 current and 3 voltage channels to measure all phases and neutral for single, two-phase, three-phase, split delta, 2PT/2CT, DC, 45-66 Hz, and 360-440 Hz applications as well as DC.

Comprehensive Logging Capabilities
Allows for logging of voltage and current, power usage and energy consumption in kWh. They have ample internal memory for monitoring up to months at a time.  Measures, records, and logs: V, I, W, VA, VAR, PF, Hz, THD, – all simultaneously.  You can audit individual loads or entire facilities, measure and profile circuit capacity, check load panel imbalance, track harmonic distortion and more.

The meter’s operation is backed up by rechargeable batteries and has an option to power it directly from the voltage being monitored. Current probes that normally require batteries (flexible AC probes and DC probes) get their power from the Summit PS2500.  This guarantees that the Summit PS2500 will log power as long as you need it. Unlike other loggers, it never goes into "sleep" mode. This guarantees that you will have a true view of all of the data when the job is done.

SD Memory Card Slot
With SD cards you could perform several studies in the field and save each survey separately to the card, and then later download several surveys to a PC. Or, for long term monitoring, you can pause the monitor, swap the card with a fresh one, and take the other card back to a PC later. The benefit here is that you don't need to always carry a PC to get data, or you can send someone else to swap the card - they won't need a PC either!

What are the benefits of the SD card?
  • High data integrity, data is always saved – since data is always simultaneously logged to the meter’s memory AND the card if present
  • You can store more surveys – more survey data – up to 2GB
  • SD cards are inexpensive - carry several!
  • SD cards offer a method of sharing data
  • Surveys can be archived on SD cards
  • SD cards are another method of downloading to a PC

Bluetooth Communications
Communicates wirelessly to a PC via Bluetooth so there’s no need to connect a cable and be “tethered” to a PC! On a nearby PC screen a few feet away, real-time waveforms, phasors and harmonic spectra can be displayed. Also, from a few feet away, you can remotely control a PowerSight monitor wirelessly.

What are the benefits of Bluetooth wireless communications?
  • No need to be tethered to a PC by a cable any more
  • No need to carry a communications cable (cables can get lost too!)
  • Remote control from a few feet away – a cool feature that enhances safety by keeping you a distance away from high voltages
  • Faster downloads than compared to serial cable

PC Software & Report Generator
All PowerSight monitors include PowerSight Manager PC software for data analysis. This software can display individual graphical logs, zoom and expand for detail, print, and export data to a spreadsheet file. The automatic Report Writer compiles the survey data into tables and graphs in just seconds to eliminate tedious manual cutting and pasting. The report is editable so you can insert your conclusions and recommendations. The comparison mode is ideal for comparing surveys such as “before and after” adding new loads or making circuit changes, or verifying the financial savings after implementing energy savings measures.

Safety First!
CAT IV rated, the most stringent safety rating for handheld test equipment. Thus, the Summit PS2500 can withstand a 10,000 V surge at a 600 V service so you can feel confident in the meter's safety wherever power studies are performed at 600 V or below.

No More Connection Errors or Wasted Surveys
Our patented, built-in SureStart feature automatically checks for wrong connections on three phase connections before you begin monitoring to ensure a successful power study every time. If there is a misconnection SureStart will display the error in the meter window.

Use SureSense for automatic current probe identification to set the input of the Summit PS2500 to match each current probe in use. This makes sure that the current probe readings are accurate and correct.

PowerSight can provide you with a complete range of reports to serve your needs. Our Report Generator and PowerSight Manager (PSM) software provide you with the graphical reports, tabular reports, and raw data that you need.

Comparison Reports
(Before/After, On/Off, Good/Bad, etc.) The Report Generator has a 4 step process for preparing reports to compare data from data logs. The process is quite easy and fast to perform. It results in a concise tabular report comparing the “before” results with the “after” results (including estimated KWH and cost) with optional appended graphs. The before and after columns are followed by a column showing the actual change between them and the percent change between them.

Sections of different logs can be compared or even sections of the same log can be compared. The report is previewed as a document that you can edit on-screen. Once previewed, it is quick and easy to modify any of the settings and run the report again. The ease and power of this reporting mechanism makes it a favorite for presenting results to decision-makers.

Summary Reports (Overall Results)
The Report Generator has a 3 step process for preparing reports summarizing data from data logs. The process is quite easy and fast to perform. It results in a concise tabular report presenting the variables of interest, including estimated KWH and cost, with optional appended graphs.

The report is previewed as a document that you can edit on-screen. Once previewed, it is quick and easy to modify any of the settings and run the report again. The ease and power of this reporting mechanism makes it a favorite for presenting baseline data.

Trending Graphs (Data Log Graphs)
Our PSM software makes viewing data logs easy. In a 2 step process, any variable of the log can be presented graphically. Dozens of pre-arranged combinations of variables guide you to an uncluttered and relevant presentation comparing variables of interest. Labelswith arrows can be added to highlight areas of interest.

gain control over the timeframe presented and the relative size of the data presentation.By using the zoom and scalingfeatures, you At the top of each graph, each variable is summarized with a single numberfor simplicity. A graph of averages is summarized to the average of the averages. A graph of maximums is summarized to the maximum of the maximums and a graph of minimums is summarized to the minimum of the minimums.

While viewing the data within PSM, moving your cursor over a data point reveals the actual values and time/datestamp at that point.

Custom Graphs (And Raw Data)
The data logs from PowerSight can be easilyimported into Microsoft Excel and otherspreadsheet programs in order to make customgraphs or to view raw data. It is a tab delimited text file with column headings, so the data is easily understood.

Harmonics Analysis Reports
PSM offers three types of harmonics analysis reports. When THD is recorded in a data log, the THD of up to seven signals can be presented on the same graph over time and printed out. The averages of each are presented at the top.

When wave sets are received by PSM, they canhave a detailed harmonic analysis done afterone click of a mouse. The resulting harmonic bar chart compares magnitudes of each harmonic to the 50th. You can control the range of harmonics and their scale in order to print out graphical comparisons of before and afterresults of your harmonic abatement activities. At the click of a mouse, the graphical data canbe presented as a table for a concise presentation of magnitude and phase of each harmonic, plus THD and K factor.

Streaming Data (Recording Core Variables Each Second)
PSM has a provision for putting an attached PowerSight unit into “summary measurement” mode. In this mode, PowerSight transmits the voltages, currents, watts, and VA of each phase once a second. This data is displayed on the computer screen, scrolling up one line each second. If the data is directed to a file, it is also recorded as a tab delimited text file, suitable for import into another program for extensive dataanalysis of core measurements recorded each second for as long as the PC has room tostore the data.

Automated Process Control Output
PowerSight can be used in process control or alarm applications. When it is first turnedon, if a certain data sequence is sent to it, PowerSight will then send out the streaming data discussed above in a binary representation of floating point numbers. The control or alarm system can interpret the data as it arrives each second.
